Subject: Axis direction
HI Tom & KFloppers,
How do I setup Z-axis direction, I have my Z in knee on my mill so going should be - but it goes +.
I have tried to set Output Channels ch2 Gain to -1 but the there will be a race condition (was very close today that the knee did run too high and jump off).

Can this be set in Mach3?

Cheers
Bengt

Hi Bengt,

You need to reverse both the InputGain0 and OutputGain.  Reversing the InputGain0 will reverse the direction the encoder reads, but if you reverse only one of the two you will then have positive feedback instead of negative feedback and your motor will run away.  If you set the Max Following Error to a small number then an error such as that would generate an immediate fault and not run-away very far.

Thanks Tom,
There has been so much these last days with my servodrivers, I have not been reading right information and also been a chicken and not had the balls to crank up the amps so I have had a lot of OverCurrent issues with my VSD-XE drives. But now when I got a size 14 in my ass to do the right settings I have axis moving without complaints. So maybe at last I will see some chips in a week or two.
Cheers
Bengt
ps Obviously I have done something wrong as regards the init file I posted erlier with settings set to SLOW, instead of 100 I have 20000 in my settings within KFlop, now I need to do some copy/paste job.
